Yo I have to say big up to the BLK JKS for playing at the 2010 World Cup opening ceremonies solo and with Alicia Keys! I had the pleasure working and meeting the Blk Jks 2 years ago at SXSW Austin. Myself and former crew (The Party) had a showcase and featured them as our headliner (all courtesy of Knox !!) alongside Ghosthuslter (now VEGA), Queen Majesy (dj set), Devlin of Spankrock BBC (dj set), and more .. you get the idea. All I have to say is that they are extremely talented and really great guys. You can pick up there music on Itunes -- type in "BLK JKS". I came home today to discover this amazing 2010 version of the legendary STALAG riddim. Which was originally built by Winston Riley (Techniques) in 74' or 73' by the name of "Stalag 17". Juke Boxx Productions releases this version in a fewweeks and on 45's soon!!!!! This updated version features Busy Signal, Romain Virgo, Tarrus Riley, I-Octane, G-Whizz, Assassin, Bugle, Kiprich, Chino, Ele, Demarco, and Chuck Fenda.

:: THE PROMISE LAND ::

Nas and Damian Marley have been working on this project for some time now, and I really like the tunes that have come out. Everyone knows Nas and Damian both have deep roots in hip hop and reggae royalty, and you can call them both iconic musicians. Damian being the youngest son of Bob Marley and Cindy Breakspeare, and nicknamed "Junior Gong" after his fathers "Tuff Gong". He has had much success in the past few years with tunes "My name is Jr. Gong", "More Justice", "The Mission", and "Welcome to Jamrock" too name a few. Nas has been a major force in the hip hop world since his freshman album "Illmatic". Which all hip hop heads know the "The World Is Yours", "It Ain't Hard to Tell", and "One Love". He went on to release many other hits including "Hate me now", "Nas is like", and recent "Hip hop is dead". The album "Distant Relatives" is described to be about Nas and Damian’s relationship, and also their shared African ancestry. This tune was sampled from a Dennis Brown song by the name of "Promise Land" (which is posted below). They have incorporated Dennis Brown on the track and I really like the vibes. The original track is basically untouched with Nas and Damian along side Dennis.

The album is scheduled to be released on May 18th.

BULLET BULLET ! ! I've attended a few Rice and Peas over the past few years, and I can all ways say I have a good time.. nice vibez, selectors nice, girls nice, just overall nice! Roxy Cottontail has thrown this party for some time with Rice and Peas crew ( Dj Gravy , Max Glazer, Weed Kalogne , Orijahnal vibes, Micro Don, and Dj Maya ). They have had numerous live guest and I'm still waiting on the part 2 of the mixes... (maybe 1 came out .. not sure).
